Most of the charter bases are located on the Ligurian and Tuscanian coast, around Sicilian shore and on the Eastern and Western coasts of Sardinia. Venetian lagoon in Northern Adriatic is also becoming one of the more and more popular destinations with bases in Venetia proper, several small towns around it and in the port of Trieste.
Season in Italy lasts from April to October with Sicily and Sardinian serving as a year-round destinations. Sailing around Italy can sometimes be tricky, as winds, blowing mainly along the coast may build up very quickly up to dangerous force 7, so always get your weather report fresh before leaving a harbor. The most reliable ones are 12-hour forcasts. Harbors and marinas in Italy are well maintained, and lack no facility needed for a perfect overnight stay.
